Dr Sylviana Haji Moris

Head of Planning Services

Dr. Sylviana Haji Moris was appointed as Head of Planning Services in April 2016. Previously she headed the Department of Dental Services as their Acting CEO (since 2013). Her career started in 2001 when she joined the Dental Services as a Dental Medical Officer. She lead the Primary Oral Care Services Division, since 2007 and her promotion to Senior Medical Dental Medical Office ensued in 2011.

​Her involvement in the field of dentistry have been evident through her appointments as chair in various dental committees and representatives for meetings abroad throughout her tenure in the dental service. Her contribution in the area of Dental Terminology, earned her the Scholar Award ('Tokoh Ilmuwan') by MABBIM, (Language Council of Brunei, Indonesia & Malaysia) in 2008. She also received the Excellent Worker Award ('Pekerja Cemerlang') in the 'Dentists Category' in conjunction with 10 years anniversary of National Dental Centre in 2011.

Dr Sylviana obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery, BDS from University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom in 2001 and later on continued to doing her MSc in Dental Public Health at King's College London, United Kingdom in 2010. She attended the Executive Development Programme on Public Policy and Management for Senior Government Officials 2015 organised by Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam in cooperation with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
