Introduction:

​​​Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital stands as the nation's main landmark to health care. Rising majestically from a hill in Kampung Kiulap, the hospital overlooks the historic Brunei River and the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan itself. 

RIPAS hospital consists of 7 main blocks:  

1) Ward blocks 

2) The Specialist Clinics block 

3) The Plant & Engineering block 

4) The Outpatients and State Lab block 

5) The Sports Complex 

6) The Transport Complex with jetty and helipad facilities  

7) The Women & Children Centre.



 

 


Roles and Functions:

  • Provides secondary and tertiary health care for the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam especially in the Brunei-Muara District.  
  • As a national reference hospital. 
  • As the main source of expertise in  medical and allied health services. 
  • As a training institution  in collaboration with higher national and international education institutions.
  • Supports national health promotion programmes, especially with regards to combatting NCDs (Non-infectious Diseases).​
