GENERAL LOAN RULES
In the loan rules, the term books includes monographs, journals, newspaper, Audiovisual and other forms of library materials.
A library user must produce his / her valid tickets when
borrowing books. He / she must check to see that all library books in
his / her possession have been properly issued to him / her before
leaving the library.
Borrowers are held responsible for all books charged to their tickets.
Borrowers may not use the membership tickets of other members to borrow books.
Borrowers must not sub-lend books.
Borrowers will be held responsible for any mutilation
(including defacement) found in library books when returned. They must
check and report any mutilation found before borrowing.
Borrowers must return their loans when due.
Borrowers must report books lost to the Circulation
Counter immediately. For borrowers who are liable for overdue book
fines, such fines will be calculated from the date due to the date when
the book was reported lost or till the date the book is found and
returned.
- Borrowers who lose/damage books/journals are liable to
pay for the current cost of the books plus library administrative and
processing charges of $10.00 per book, or $20.00 for Recommended
library items (Special Collection and Reference Books), neither of which
are refundable.
