Overview

To assist in planning and implementation of the reduction of social distancing measures (De-escalation Plan)

BruHealth uses algorithms to determine the individual personal health status with the use of questionnaire related to their health status.

  • Personal assessment code: This code reflects the infectious risk of the user and will determine the type of activities the user can take part in.
  • COVID-19 Self-assessment tool: A tool that assesses your risk factor to COVID-19 and is used as a reference only. It does not provide any medical diagnosis, treatment advice and medication guidance.
  • Friday Prayers Code: This code is used to book for your next Friday prayer, and to determine if you are healthy and well enough to attend Friday prayers.*not applicable anymore
  • COVID-19 knowledge: Includes press releases issued by the government related to COVID-19, as well as articles infographics on COVID-19
  • FAQ's on COVID-19: Frequently asked questions of COVID-19.
  • Nearby: Shows the activity trace of the confirmed cases in Brunei and locations of medical resources.
  • Scan QR Code – allows users to scan the QR codes at business premises or locations that has applied for the BruHealth QR Code. Entry to the premise is determined by the event code of the users.

History

BruHealth was officially released on March 2021 by the Ministry of Health under the direction of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam to engage its residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. BruHealth app is different from other contact tracing apps adopted in other countries as it integrates with the health data of patients.

The app provides residents of Brunei updates on COVID-19 development and related policy measures, monitors health conditions of residents of Brunei through the self-assessment feature and tracks risk exposure of residents of Brunei using Bluetooth and GPS tracking features.

BruHealth Phrases

1. Phrase 1: Contract Tracing (QR code)

The Government rolled out its BruHealth contact tracing app on 14th May 2020 following the announcement on easing of COVID-19 restrictions from May 16, 2020. Contact tracing is an essential public health tool for controlling infectious disease outbreaks, such as COVID-19. With contact tracing can help tracing and breaking chains of transmission of COVID-19

All resident, non-resident, staff and students are urged to take the usage of the BruHealth application seriously, especially in scanning the QR Code when entering government premises, shopping centre etc. as it is used by the MOH for contact tracing purposes in the event of an outbreak of infection.

To gain entry to permises, residents will need to download the BruHealth application and input their health data every day. The app will generate one of five colour codes indicating whether you can move about freely. If you're good to go, you will have to scan a QR code at most public places.

Note: At this time, only those with Green Codes are allowed to enter mosques and other places of worships.

Health Code – Personal Assessment Code

  • Code Green means that you are healthy and safe to enter business premises or participate in activities.
  • Code Yellow means that you are allowed to enter business premises but need to take extra precautions. You are also advised to avoid from going to crowded public places.
  • Code Red means that you are NOT allowed to enter business premises as you are found to have influenza-like symptoms or have a travel history to affected areas or have been close contact with a positive COVID-19 patient.
  • Code Blue means that you are NOT allowed to enter business premises as you are a patient who have just recovered from COVID-19, and still undergoing the 14-ay self-isolation.
  • Code purple means that you are NOT allowed to enter business premises as you are a positive COVID-19 patient.

 2. Authentication

Authenticatication phrase a step required to obtain the features to see medical records (recorded), past appointments, future appointments, clinic appointment review, lab test, medication perscribed and more. (Refer to #3 more details).

3. Patient Portal

 Patient portal is the online tools that allow user / patient to keep track of their health care provider visits, lab test results, billing, prescriptions, and so on. *Patient medical records limited to recorded information in the Government Health Facilities or Facilities that uses Bru-HIMS System.

BruHealth will send you a text messages as a reminder 24 hour before and another text messages 2 hour before the appointment.

Users who have made Online Visit appointments and Online Video Consultations can make their registration payment online.

 *Note: User need to verify and authenticate (refer to item no #2) their identity before they can access this feature.

BruHealth Requirements

1.  Compatibility / phone requirement

For Android, ensure that you have updated your software to android 7.0 or above. For iOS, ensure that you have updated your software to iOS 10.0 or above.

2. Location (GPRS) and Bluetooth

Location and Bluetooth need to turn on in order to tracks risk exposure of residents of Brunei / contact tracing.

Alternative:

Certain IOS / Android Version cannot support BruHealth application, so you need to go to BruHealth website www.healthinfo.gov.bn.

You will ask to key in your phone no and verification code will be sent via text messages.

After entering the code, they will directly enter BruHealth apps homepage, click on "+". Then click on "My code".

You will be generated with your own QR code to be presented to the premises to scan.

*Note: The website does not have Patient Portal.

5. What happens if a user gives false information into the self-reporting or businesses give false information when applying for the BruHealth QR code?
  • Any individual/s found to give false information into the app and is found guilty can be prosecuted under the Infectious Diseases Act (Cap 204).



6. What iOS and Android version does the BruHealth mobile app support?

  • For Android, ensure that you have updated your software to android 7.0 or above. For iOS, ensure that you have updated your software to iOS 10.0 or above.



7. Do I need to update my Event Code (self-report) daily?
  • Yes, you are required to update your code daily by simply clicking on the "Code" button in the application.



8. Do all business premises need to apply for the BruHealth QR Code?
  • Yes, all business premises are advised to register and apply for the BruHealth QR Code, especially the premises that are on Level 1 de-escalation plans such as gyms/fitnes centres, restaurants, cafe, food courts, open air stalls or ,markets, indoor sports facilites, outdoor sports facilities (including outdoor playground), driving schools, and golf courses. Government and educational institutions, as well as places of worships are also required to apply for the QR Codes. 



9. What is the allowed capacity for each business premise?
  • At present, business are only allowed  to accept 30% of their capacity. This will be reviewed as the situation progresses. Please ensure that customers are reminded to scan in when entering and scan out when leaving the premise.



10. Are there any group of individuals or special cases who are exempted from the use of the Event Codes, due to the nature of their profession?

4. Are there any group of individuals or special cases who are exempted from the use of the Event Codes, due to the nature of their profession?

The following individual, groups or professions are exempted from the Event Codes of the BruHealth application.

5. Diplomats including their family members, as well as staff of foreign embassies in Brunei Darussalam. 

Diplomats and embassy staff can use their diplomatic identity cards to enter business premises instead of the BruHealth App. Diplomats and embassy staff are also required to manually track their day to day movements at all times especially when visiting business premises, in case the Ministry of Health needs assistance with contact tracing.

6. Why is my Bru-HIMS number (BN) invalid / why can't I insert my Bru-HIMS number (BN)?

If you still issue after confirming your BN from the Hospital or bru-hims@moh.gov.bn, please call 148 (during working hours_or email us at bruhealth.support@moh.gov.bn for query and provide us the following information:

  1. Full name
  2. Date of birth
  3. Identification card (birth certificate number, passport number, IC Number_
  4. Bru-HIMS number 
  5. contact number
  6. Screenshot of error

7. Why my child's birth certificate is invalid / cannot be entered?

The reason behind this is:

1)     If your child is a newborn then our BruHealth system still not updated with your baby details.

2)  Your child was born overseas and not registered in the system. then you need to send us an email at bruhealth.support@moh.gov.bn and provide us your full name, your child date of birth, your identification card and your birth certificate number, your child Bru-HIMS number and your contact number.

 Solution: Provide us your child details information as follows:

  1. Child Full Name
  2. Child Date of Birth 
  3. Photo of the Birth Certificate

8. How to authenticate my child (for foreigner)?

You need to register them as "non-resident" and use their passport as their Identification Recognition method.

*Note: For this process, you need to leave the IC (Identification card number) field empty


9. Why is my Warrant Card (ARMY/POLICE) not accepted/allowed/rejected during Identification recognition process?

Identification recognition process will not accept other identification card such as foreign IC and warrant cards (for Brunei Police and Army).

Alternatively, use E-Darussalam account to complete the authentication process. If you don't have E-Darussalam account yet, we advise you to register at https://www.gov.bn/bm/Home/aspx. Once you have registered, you need to contact Darussalam hotline at 123 to activate your account.


10. Why is my IC not accepted / allowed / rejected during Identification recognition process? (For red IC that have scribble at the back at the end rear)

IC photo that is faulty and has evident scratches is unrecognizable with BruHealth. It is advisable to use E-Darussalam account. If you don't have E-Darussalam account yet, we advise you to register at https://www.gov.bn/bm/Home/aspx. Once you have registered, you need to contact Darussalam hotline at 123 to activate your account.

 

11. My Bruhealth won't open / why does my Bruhealth keeps crashing?

This is because:

1)     Your device have a slow internet connection, restart your device and try to log into BruHealth apps once again.

2)     Your BruHealth apps is outdated. Please make sure that your BruHealth apps updated to the latest version.

3)     If you already do 1 and 2 but still doesn't fix the problem then try to uninstall and reinstall the apps once again.

 

If you already do all the above but the problem still persist, then please don't hesitate to send email bruhealth.support@moh.gov.bn with the screenshot error and provide us your details: Full name, Date of birth, Phone Number.

12. How do I change my detail in BruHealth Apps?

You can change any detail you want to change in "edit member info" as long as you remember your password.

But you cannot change your phone number as BruHealth protocol one user one BruHealth apps. This is for Personal Security Protection purpose. If you want to change from old number to a new phone number, then you need to send enquiry to us via email at bruhealth.support@moh.gov.bn and provide us your full name, your identification card number, your old and new contact number.

13. What if I forgot my password, how to reset my Password or modify my password in BruHealth app?

In order to reset or modify password, please follow this step;

Go to "Health" section then click on "setting" on top right. After that choose "Member manage". "Edit Member info""Modify password"Pop up message will appear then choose "Forgot password"Another message will pop up, click "Authenticate"→choose aunthentication method "E-Darussalam account" or "Identification Recognition method"→Last step is create a new password, please make sure your password is 8 to 16 character long, and combine upper case, lower case, sign and number.

*Notes:  Since you already change to a new password so the old one will be invalid.
