​Dr Lailawati Jumat

Head of Quality & Accreditation

 

Dr Lailawati Jumat has recently been appointed as Head of Quality and Accreditation Office (2016). She works closely to facilitate and support quality and accreditation related activities with all the services. Prior to this appointment, as the Director of Hospital Services, she was involved in the planning and assessment of services provided by all Government hospitals (2009-2016). She is a practicing medical practitioner with 16 years' experience and over 10 years' experience in health care administration.

Currently, Dr Lailawati, holds several positions in professional organisation and committees, these include being an Examiner and Item Writer for Membership of Royal College of General Practitioner International, Brunei Darussalam's focal person for World Health Organisation (WHO) Human Organ and Tissue Transplantation and Brunei Darussalam Focal Point for ASEAN Task Force on Traditional Medicine (ATFTM). She is also an ACPA award recipient, being awarded Bronze Medal ACPA Award (Public Service Day 2012) – Project Shuttle link Bus and Silver Medal ACPA Award - Secure home for chronic psychiatric patients and improving care for acute patients (Public Service Day 2014) and was elected as one of the Ministry's Liaison Officers to the National Disaster Management Centre.

Dr Lailawati has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB.Ch.BAO), University College of Dublin (1996) and completed her Postgraduate Diploma (Primary Health Care), St. Georges Hospital & Medical School, UK (Collaboration with Universiti Brunei Darussalam) (2002). She participated in the Executive Development Programme (NUS), Institute of Strategic Studies, Ministry of Defence and is also a Member (International) of Royal College of General Practitioners, UK (2003). Amongst her other experiences were as a visiting Lecturer for Undergraduate, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, a Clinical Supervisor to local medical undergraduate students from overseas during their elective clinical attachments, Clinical Lecturer to Medical undergraduates from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a Clinical Supervisor to MSc in Primary Health Care Registrars during their General Practice postings.
