Roles and Functions:
Pharmaceutical Drug Production Section (PDPS)
was established since the year 1985 in which its
main functions are to manufacture various
internal and external pharmaceutical
preparations and repack pharmaceuticals from
bulk pack into standard pack size for
distribution to all the government dispensaries
in hospitals, health centers and clinics in
Brunei Darussalam.
These functions are carried out with the
objectives of producing adequate amount of
pharmaceuticals that are safe and of acceptable
quality for use by the patients treated by the
health institutions under the Ministry of
Health.
Repacking of pharmaceuticals from their bulk
packaging into standard pack size will help to
facilitate the dispensing processes and the
quality of dispensing services offered, thus
increasing patient’s confidence.
PDPS is subdivided into 2 units, the
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit and the
Repacking Unit. There are 64 manufactured and
146 repacked pharmaceuticals preparations listed
in the PDPS.
