Empowering People Towards A Healthy Living

Develop strategies, policies and guidelines, related to promotion of healthy lifestyle and promotion of Non- Communicable Diseases (NCDs)

What We Do

Coordinate and conduct health promotion programmes, particularly relating to healthy lifestyle and NCDs prevention

Conduct evaluation and research related to healthy lifestyle and NCD prevention

Provide consultation, guidance and training on health promotion, healthy lifestyle and prevention of NCDs.

Advocates and support health promotion campaign and activities unertaken by other stakeholders through partnership and collaboration.

Strategies

Adult and Elderly Health Programme

What We Do

  • Enable – By Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating various programs related to the improvement of health for adults and the elderly and equip them with the necessary skills to foster a healthier environment.
  • Empower – By mobilizing and strengthening any health promotion and education activities in Brunei Darussalam towards adults and the elderly people based on World Health Organisation (WHO) initiatives and Ministry of Health Strategic Plan 2019 – 2023.
  • Engage – By promoting inter-agency cooperation between the local authority, relevant partners and as appropriate bodies that work with adults and the elderly people as well as public to various platform.
  • Advocate – By encouraging workplaces and community groups to provide supportive environments and actions for adult and elderly people to be physically active, eat healthy, be smoke-free and have good mental wellbeing.

  • Health Screening
    • General health education to students
    • Review of immunization status – school entry immunization requirement for Year 1 Students
    • Treat any minor illness
    • Appropriate referrals to primary health care, secondary health care or other allied health professional
  • School Based Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination Programme

  • Early detection and management of health problems among school-going population
  • Promote health and well-being of students
  • Prevention of the outbreak of communicable diseases (through immunization, health screening, health education and contract tracing)
