Foreign Worker Health Screening

Brief Introduction

Established in 2002, the Foreign Worker Health Screening (FWHS) programme aims to ensure the health and productivity of foreign workers in Brunei Darussalam. Its primary objectives include the early detection of diseases, minimizing disease transmission risks to the local population, maintaining the country’s low level of infectious diseases, and confirming the medical fitness of foreign workers for employment.

What We Offer

Health Screening

Aim to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within Brunei Darussalam by screening for potential health risks among new and renewal foreign workers.

Certification for Employment Pass (Work Pass)

Issue a medical fitness for employment certificate for new and renewal foreign workers, which is a requirement for issuance of Employment Pass by the Department of Immigration and National Registration.

Medical Examination

New workers shall undergo a comprehensive medical examination in their home country or country of permanent residence prior to their arrival in Brunei Darussalam, including blood tests for communicable diseases and chest x-ray, to ensure their fitness for employment.
