​Dr Hj Ahmad Yazid Hj Abdul Wahab​

Medical Superintendent Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital

Dr Ahmad Yazid is a practicing Consultant Intensivist and is also the Medical Superintendent of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital and has held many important positions and responsibilities both in the administrative and clinical functions of the hospital. He is the Head of Acute care Specialty Services, Brunei Darussalam since 2014, Administrative Head Critical Care Unit RIPAS hospital since 2006 and Director of Brunei Haj Medical Mission 2014 till present. He is also the consultant in charge covering a 30 bed critical care unit in RIPAS hospital and coordinates with other specialties to provide optimized care for patients.

Past work attachments in various other medical/health institutions includes being Senior house officer in Paediatrics at the Royal Alexander hospital, Paisley, Glasgow (1996-1997) and a Critical Care trainee in Melbourne and Sydney Australia, under the Joint Faculty of intensive care (2002-2005). He is experienced in conducting many medical procedures; Intravenous Lines, Lumbar Puncture, Epidurao Catheter Insertion, Insertaion of Vascular Catheter, Percutaneous Tracheostomy just to name a few.

In 2006, he undertook his Critical Care Training, Melbourne and Sydney, Australia and got his European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1992 from Leeds University, United Kingdom then continued his postgraduate training and completed his Trainee in Adult Intensive care in The Alfred hospital Melbourne and Hornsby Hospital Sydney (2002-2004).

He has had the privilege of being invited as a speaker/presenter for many workshop and conferences which includes an ACLS instructor for the National Resuscitation Centre, 2014. Presented on the various aspects on management of patients on ECMO in Hospital RIPAS (2012), Presented "New approaches in management of septic shock" during the Brunei Indonesia and Malaysia Interantional Scientific Meeting, Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2008 and many more.

​Dr Yazid, is very active in promoting the development of the medical field. He has published and presented many papers and presentations both for local and international releases. Currently, Dr Yazid is married with 6 lovely children.
