Sabri Anuar was appointed as the Head of
Operation in 2016 and is one of the members of the Innovation and Delivery
Academy (IDeA), Ministry of Health. Joined the service in 1994 as a qualified
Physiotherapist and is currently a practising Physio at Physiotherapy Unit,
Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital at Tutong
district. He has always been passionate
about the development of Allied Health Professions (AHPs). Appointed as the Head of Clinical Support
Services (HCSS), Ministry of Health (2005-2007) where he was responsible in laying
down the initial foundations of frameworks and strategies in advancement of
AHPs through a revised Scheme of Services and Allied Health Professions Order
for Brunei Darussalam. As HCSS he helped
the establishment of the Postgraduate Training Committee and Human Resource
Committee for AHPs. In August 2007, he
was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pengiran Muda Mahkota
Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital at Tutong district
(2007-2016). As CEO he was responsible
in the implementation of the 5-year Strategic Plan of the hospital in
developing its services and opening of the National Isolation Centre (NIC). Although being appointed as CEO, he had maintained his interest to oversee development of AHPs until his appoinmtent as the Interim Chair of the Allied Health Professions Council of Brunei Darussalam (2013-2015). As
President of the Allied Health Association, he has been active in leading
charity drives, professional events and social activities in upholding the
Association’s motto R.E.A.C.H for Excellence in Allied Health. Sabri attained his Bachelor of Science
(Honours) in Physiotherapy from the University of Keele, United Kingdom (UK)
(1994). In 2000-2001, he went to the UK
to further his studies and clinical training at the School of Physiotherapy,
Manchester Royal Infirmary affiliated to Manchester University where he
obtained his Master of Science in Physiotherapy and during that same year,
Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine from the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, UK
(2000). He has also undergone his
Executive Development Programme both for Middle Management Officers (2010) and
Senior Government Officers (2015) at ILIA, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and had
recently completed the Brunei Top 100 Leaders Programme organised by the Prime
Minister’s Office, Brunei Darussalam. In
recognition of his services, he was awarded The Most Blessed Order of Setia
Negara Brunei 4th Class (PSB) and Excellent Service Medal (PIKB).
