CARA-CARA:
STEPS:

1. Tanggalkan penutup daripada alat mulut. Pastikan yang alat mulut bersih sebelum digunakan
1. Remove cover. Check the mouth piece is clean before use.

2. Goncangkan inhaler.
2. Shake the inhaler.

3. Perlahan-lahan hembuskan nafas keluar. Jangan hembuskan nafas ke dalam inhaler, ini boleh menyumbati injap inhaler.
3. Breath out slowly. Do not breath out into the inhaler, this could clog the inhaler valve.

4. Letakkan alat mulut di dalam mulut serta menutupinya rapat dengan bibir awda, dan dongakkan kepala awda ke atas.
4. Place the mouthpiece in the mouth and seal your lips around it, and tilt your head back.

5. Tekankan bekas logam ke bawah dengan kuat dan pada masa yang sama tarik nafas sedalamnya melalui mulut awda.
5. Press the metal canister down firmly and breathe in deeply through your mouth at same time. Inhale one puff each time.

6. Alihkan inhaler daripada mulut awda. Tutup mulut dan tahan nafas selama 5-10 saat atau selama yang boleh, kemudian hembuskan nafas dari hidung perlahan –lahan.
6.Remove the inhaler from the mouth. Close your mouth and hold your breath for about 5-10 seconds or as long as is comfortable before breathing out through your nose

7. Jikalau seduttan kedua diperlukan, tunggu sekurang-kurang 1 minit sebelum mengulang langkah 2 ke 6.
7. If a second inhalation is needed, wait at least 1 minute before repeating step 2 to 6.

8. Jika awda diberikan “steroid inhaler” bersama dengan “bronkodilator inhaler”, gunakan bronkodilator inhaler terlebih dahulu, Jarakkan 5 minit sebelum menggunakan steroid inhaler.
8. If a steroid inhaler is used with a bronchodilator inhaler, the bronchodilator should be used first. There should be at Least a 5 minutes interval between the two different types of inhaler.

9. Kumur-kumur mulut dengan air selepas menggunakan “steroid inhaler” dan buang airnya.
9. If using a steroid inhaler, rinse mouth with water after use.

• “Steroid inhaler” adalah ubat pencegah dan mesti digunakan setiap hari. Contoh: Beclomethasone (Becotide, Beclazone, Becloforte inhaler).

Steroid inhaler is a prevantive medication. It must be used on a regular basis (daily) Example : Beclomethasone (Becotide, Beclazone , Becloforte inhaler).

• “Bronkodilator inhaler” biasanya digunakan bila perlu sahaja. Contoh: Salbutamol (Respolin, Ventolin inhaler).

Bronchodilator inhaler relieves symptoms of an attack. It is usually used when required only. Example : Salbutamol (Respolin, Ventolin inhaler).

SOME HELPFUL HINTS….

• Amatlah penting inhaler ditekan tepat pada masa awda menyedut melalui mulut. Jika awda melihat asap keluar daripada hidung atau mulut ataupun inhaler, ini bererti awda tidak menggunakan inhaler tersebut dengan betul.
  
  It is important that the canister be pressed at exactly the same time as you inhale through the mouth. If you see mist escaping from your nose or mouth or top of the inhaler, then you are not using the inhaler correctly.
   
• Inhaler hendaklah sentiasa ditutup apabila tidak digunakan supaya ia tidak dimasuki debu dan kotoran.
  
  Keep the cap on the the inhaler when not in use so that dirt can not get into it.
   
• Untuk membersihkannya, keluarkan bekas logam dan cuci muncung plastic yang dimasukkan ke mulut dengan air suam. Bersihkan dua kali seminggu. Perlu diingat bahawa muncung plastik yang dimasukkan ke dalam mulut hendaklah dikeringkan betul-betul sebelum bekas logam disarungkan kembali.
  
  To clean, remove the metal canister and rinse the plastic mouthpiece in warm water. Do this twice a week. It is important that the mouthpiece be thouroughly dried before replacing the metal canister.
   
• Pastikan bekas logam tadi disimpan kembali ke tempat asalnya seperti yang di dalam gambar A.
  
  When reassembling always make sure that the narrow stem of the metal canister is seated correctly into the socket inside the mouthpiece as in Figure A.
