The hospital in Tutong Districts opened to the public in 1997. The hospital has 139 beds and is well equipped with high-technology medical equipment.
The comprehensive services comprise of:

  • A large outpatient department
  • Accident and emergency
  • Pediatrics
  • Obstetrics and gynecology
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychiatry
  • General surgery
  • Dental
  • Pharmacy
  • Ear, nose and throat clinic
  • Eye clinic physiotherapy
  • Occupational therapy; and
  • Inpatient wards (medical, pediatric, surgical & maternity)

Other facilities provided include a surau, kitchen, administration office, a conference room and a hall.

Officiated by His Royal Highness The Crown Prince, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Senior Minister at The Prime Minister's Office on 11th August 1998.          

6th National Development Plan, 32 Million, 139 bedded hospital. Serving > 46,000 population in Tutong District.

​Bru-HIMS Go-Live 26th July 2012 (outpatient); 12th August 2012 (inpatient).

Recognition and acdreditation as Teaching Hospital by Universiti Brunei Darussalam in July 2012.

National Isolation Centre was opened on 13th November 2012 and operationalised on 3rd December 2012
