ARTIFICIAL SWEETENING SUBSTANCES
LICENSE
Artificial
sweetening substances are chemical compounds used for the purpose of sweetening
foods but does not include any sugar, other carbohydrate or polyhydric
alcohols.
Under
Regulation 23 of the Public Health (Food) Regulations, (R1 Chapter 182), no
persons shall import such substances or food containing artificial sweetener
except under license issued by the Director General of Health Services.
APPLICATION OF LICENSE
- Application for a license can be made by writing to the Food Safety and Quality Control Division; Environmental Health services, Ministry of Health
- A minimal fee of B$100.00 is charged
- The license will be issued within two (2) working days
- The license has a validity of one (1) year
