- To regulate the:
- Standards and scope of nursing and midwifery practice in Brunei Darussalam;
- Standards of training and education for nurses and midwives.
- To establish, maintain and develop acceptable standards of:
- Knowledge, skills and competencies among its members;
- Qualifications and practice for the practice of nursing and midwifery.
- To approve or reject applications for registration of nurses and midwives.
- To review / re-consider re-registration of nurses and midwives.
- To issue practicing certificates / licenses.
- To accredit:
- Courses within and outside Brunei Darussalam for the purpose of registration with Nursing Board for Brunei;
- Institutions in Brunei Darussalam offering any of these courses.
