Brief Introduction

The National Health Screening Programme (NHSP) is a nationwide health screening initiative organised by the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam in 2019. The programme offers Brunei citizens and permanent residents in at-risk age group screening tests for cardiovascular risk factors and selected cancers namely colorectal, breast, and cervical cancers, based on scientific recommendations.

The main aims are to:

  •  Prevent or detect early signs of noncommunicable diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and cancer
  • Prevent or detect early complications caused by noncommunicable diseases
