The objective at UBD’s Institute of Health Sciences is to produce graduates armed with sharp analytical and methodological tools, together with adaptable skills that are driven by a positive outlook that they will need to become lifelong learners. Students are therefore given early clinical and laboratory exposure in order to attain greater experience in the core clinical, biomedical, and scientific disciplines. The emphasis in this regard is to instill greater inter-professional teamwork and communication skills – skills that are important for achieving and maintaining high quality and effective health care.

Nursing Board for Brunei (the Board) also recognizes institutions from other countries upon receiving accreditation of the training programmes from the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC), Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam. BDNAC is responsible to assess and evaluate qualifications.
